Default Real undecided over Drogba or rising stars

Quote:
Real Madrid are facing an internal struggle over how to bolster their forward line during the summer with the board wanting a player like Didier Drogba and the scouting staff recommending a rising star.

Los Merengues are concerned that Ruud van Nistelrooy's injury problems may persist and that would leave them having to look for a new striker at the end of the current season.

Despite Predrag Mijatovic stating that it would be a quiet summer at the Bernabéu, AS believe that some factions within the club want to splash out and make an offer to Chelsea to land Drogba.

While players such as Javier Saviola and Roberto Soldado do not have the confidence of coach Bernd Schuster, the German may also not want another big name thrust upon him when he falls into the other camp.

That camp is led by the club's scouts that have made proposals about several up and coming young players who would cost considerably less than Drogba and remain at Madrid for much longer.

The main dilemma for the board over Drogba is his age and the price that Chelsea will demand for his services, given that Arjen Robben cost €36m last summer.

Other options have been put forward by technical secretary, Miguel Ángel Portugal, and include Spartak Moscow's Roman Pavlyuchenko, New York Red Bulls' Jozy Altidore, Hibernian's Steven Fletcher or Partizan's Stevan Jovetić.

One star name that placate both parties is Olympqiue Lyonnais' Karim Benzema, but his price tag and unwillingness to move at the end of the season could see his name ruled out of contention.
Benzema would definitely be better buy then any of the others.

Well, Benzema is not really a rising star, he is a star right now - a top player, but United will not let him go to another club easily, if he decides to leave Lyon, I expect United to fight tooth and nail to get him.
